PCM is the output of CD / DVD really "raw" signal from the disk?
I recently bought a Denon DVD palyer grounds boast Highend Superior DACs, but I also have a very good Yamaha home cinema amplifier. I worry that if we use only the "raw" signal received by palyer DVD, is wasted money. My final question is that "it is the PCM signal (digital audio output), converted directly from the bit signal picked up by the laser scanner or is re-produced after being DACed? "Could someone give me some advice on how to make the best out of the good DVD player and amplifier theater home?
PCM is the "raw" signal. If you have "high" end of the player, you probably have a better DAC Yamaha receiver, so they are best analog connection (R / L) to Yamaha and make sure you bypass all processing! Use something like "pure stereo" to "bypass" so.
