Remove the glue residue off of my factory sealed Final Fantasy 7?

I have a misprint factory sealed Final Fantasy 7, with some adhesive residue on the outside of the plastic wrap, and I want to remove debris without damaging the plastic. I'm trying to sell the game and Lowering the residue. I'm thinking about trying nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol but with my luck is going to eat the plastic and ruin the seal.

Alcohol is the best – will not damage the plastic. just take a piece of gauze, poured into alcohol – Gently rub the residue.
