What Nikon D40 lens to use for travel?
I am thinking of buying the Nikon D40. Carmera is my first SLR and I plan to use it on trips around world (which can only go once for good could take great photos). I just want to take pictures of landscape and architecture and hopefully only have to buy a lens instead of having to change lenses. What would you recommend?
I spent some time this summer touring China with my D70 and the only objective was brought my Nikon 18-200mm VR. The 18mm gave a very good wide angle (Although you might want a wider stage in some situations) and the 200mm did a great job of putting on details of temples and other places. The best feature was the VR (Vibration Reduction), which virtually eliminated the need for a tripod.
